Fairs ‘n’ Markets

Ricky Week & Canal Festival

Ricky Week

We didn’t get to see much of Ricky Week in the end, but we started it with Little Fox Market on the Saturday then we went to the Canal Festival on the Sunday. The weather was beautiful, the canal boats between Batchworth Lock & Stockers Lock were colourful and diverse, there was music, stalls selling all sorts of foods, gifts, garden furniture, there was a performance stage where some of the local performing arts schools sang and danced and we even witnessed the escape of some naughty sheep and goats. A magnificent end to a fantastic week of celebrating the joy that is Rickmansworth!

Little Fox Market – Saturday 10th May 2014

Saturday 10th of May was another Little Fox Market at St Mary’s in Ricky, which was also the beginning of the annual Ricky Week! The market went very well for us, despite the April-style showers interspersed with beautiful sunshine and blue skies. It was also good to get some feedback from customers on our products, and chat to friends who popped by.

The stall didn’t look as amazing as I’d hoped because we were a little low on stock, having rushed to get our products into Rebel Pebble for opening day, but thankfully we did okay. Our body butters will be back in June…I promise!

We’re on the High Street!

Exciting news! The Soap Cabin now has a shelf in brand new shop REBEL PEBBLE in Watford High Street!

We are renting the shelf for 3 months initially to see how things go. The Parade end of the High Street (near the Pond) is now being redeveloped, so it should once again be a busy area, after having suffered the effects of a large shopping centre at the bottom end of the high street. Rebel Pebble is a shop for local, handmade crafts, with space downstairs where they will be holding regular workshops and artist exhibitions, something truly unique to Watford.  We know some of the other crafters, having met them through Queens Road Summer Market and other such events.

Pop in and have a look! Rebel Pebble, 98 The Parade, High Street, Watford WD17 1AW

Little Fox Market – Saturday 5th April

On Saturday The Soap Cabin had a stall at the Little Fox Market, our original market(!) at the new venue of St Mary’s Church Centre, Rickmansworth. It was great to be back after a long absence and I have to say it was a really lovely day. We were indoors, but there were also some foody stalls outside and there were people browsing all day. We even had visits from friends and family, which makes the day even better (especially when they buy something)! When I got home I was actually exhausted from talking pretty much non-stop for 5 hours 🙂

Saturday was the debut for our Sea Kelp spa bar, which will be on the web shop shortly. This one divided opinion because of the seaweed aspect, but seaweed is great for drawing out impurities in the skin, and the addition of Rosemary and Lavender oils makes it relaxing and fragrant. One customer said it smelled like the Cornish coast – perfect!

Looking forward to our next stall at Little Fox on Saturday 10th May!

Market this Saturday!

This Saturday (5th April 2014) we will have a stall at the Little Fox Market in Rickmansworth, which was the very first market we ever did once I was feeling brave enough to put my products out for public consumption! They have moved to a new venue, having been based at the Fox & Hounds pub garden near M&S in the High Street.  It’s great because we now have the option of being indoors or outdoors, rather than just outdoors, and hopefully there will be a bit more footfall.

If you’re about, pop in and see us!
